Protect Water Protectors

Will your children drink  when the supply
of plastic bottles runs dry
and floats in a dead sea,
devolved from you, me
and the idea of private property?

Turtle Battle

When there are Snapping Turtles in a pond and the pond is in the Carolinas in June and it’s hot and they have the hots, they call it a Snapping Turtle Paddle Battle for the Biggest Babe Blowing Bubbles at the Bottom.

A Wild Visit

she announced herself
in the early morning
as if in a dream

but wasn’t satisfied
with that.
she wanted

to be recognized
and appreciated
for who she was

not a peacock
and not a songbird
either, calling

for her mate
with a quarrelsome
unmistakable voice

playing hide and
seek between the garden
and the rooftops.
